Pertanyaan: Bolehkah menerima hadiah tahun baru seperti kalender, diary, dll dari perusahaan yang berurusan dengan kantor tempat kami bekerja? Perusahaan ini memberi semua hadiah tersebut kepada semua personil departemen kantor kami.

Segala puji hanya bagi Allah, Rabb semesta alam. Saya bersaksi bahwa tiada Ilah yang hak untuk diibadahi kecuali Allah dan bahwa Muhammad adalah hamba dan utusanNya.
Boleh bagi karyawan tersebut untuk menerima hadiah-hadiah yang diberikan kepada mereka oleh perusahaan tersebut melalui kantor di mana mereka bekerja untuk tujuan iklan.
Meski demikian, jika hadiah-hadiah itu adalah sogokan agar kantor Anda memberi kepada perusahaan tersebut sesuatu yang tidak seharusnya mereka dapat, maka dilarang untuk menerimanya.

Question
Is it permissible to accept the New Years’ gifts such as calendars and diaries etc. from companies that deal with the company where we work? These companies give these gifts to all the personnel of the department where I work.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
It is permissible for these employees to accept the gifts that are given to them by the services companies through the company where they work as the purpose of these presents is advertising. However, if these presents are a bribe that is given so that the company giving them may thereby get something that they do not deserve, it would be impermissible to accept it.
